Netflix announces Squid Game season 2 details

Netflix shared new details and a teaser for the second season of its South Korean hit series, Squid Game, on Saturday during its Tudum Global Fan Event in Brazil.

The teaser for the series announced new cast members as well as the return of some of the original cast. Among them is the series lead, Lee Jung-jae, who plays the character Seong Gi-hun.

Among the returning characters for season two are the masked character Front Man, portrayed by Lee Byung-hun, as well as Wi Ha-jun, who plays the cop searching for his missing brother.

Oh Yeong-su, who played the elderly Oh Il-nam in the first season, has not yet been confirmed to return for the second season.

The teaser also announced that Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon, and Yang Dong-geun would join the cast for the second season.

The 2021 series went on to win six Primetime Emmys and became the streaming service’s number one show, garnering 1.65 billion hours of viewing in 28 days.
