OPPO Find X2 Pro: what you need to know

Chinese smartphone maker OPPO has launched its newest flagship OPPO Find X2 Pro, with an elegant design, a stunning display, a superb camera, and a super-fast battery charging.

Yuxian Lin, the Industrial Designer for OPPO Find X2 Series, said the device is a testament of OPPO’s commitment to bring a better smartphone experience based on the real needs of consumers.

“The Find X2 Series is designed for the ultimate experience that pleasures the consumer senses from visually pleasing for the eyes and texture for the fingertips,” Lin added.

Design

Made with elegance in mind, the new OPPO device is dressed in a premium glass-looking chip on plastic material complemented with its seamless unibody look.

OPPO offers two fairly striking and unique options for the phone: ceramic black and the orange-themed vegan leather.

The device is protected by Corning Gorilla’s 6th generation glass panel in addition to having IP68 splash, water, and dust resistance rating, along with anti-scratch properties, and resistant to high temperatures and humidity.

Not only can the OPPO Find X2 Pro survive the usual everyday accidents prone to smartphones, such as liquid and food spills, but also the challenges the outdoors may bring. It can stay underwater of at most 1.5-metre deep for up to 30 minutes.

Display

The OPPO Find X2 Pro carries a 120Hz Ultra Vision Screen — OPPO’s most advanced yet — planted on a 6.7-inch OLED curved screen in QHD+ resolution.

With a 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio, the device is the first in the industry to carry a flexible light guide which highlights an ambient colour adaption and to seamlessly conceal the front colour sensor via a thin gap, offering an all-screen device with slim 2.9 mm bezels all over.

Its 120Hz refresh rate makes the device smooth; the Quad High Definition help it be sharp; the 240Hz sampling rate enables it to operate fast, and the 10-bit colour – with the one billion different colours it can display – makes it look unusually stunning.

Camera

The OPPO Find X2 Pro uses three cameras in the rear. The 48 megapixels wide-angle camera is based on the Sony IMX689 sensor (1/1.4″ sensor size, f/1.7 aperture, 7P lens), while the 48-ultra wide-angle camera is based on the Sony IMX586 sensor (1/2″ sensor size, f/2.2 aperture, 6P lens).

This is complemented with a 13 megapixels periscope telephoto camera (f/3.0 aperture, 5P lens) allowing 10x hybrid zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. This setup supports more than 6000 x 8000 resolution (48 megapixels mode) or 4000 x 3000 pixels for the standard mode. In addition, users can also record videos in multiple formats including 4K@60fps/30fps, 1080P@60fps/30fps and 720P@60fps/30fps.

Power

The device is running on the Qaulcomm Snapdragon 865 (supporting 5G) with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It can operate whatever the user asks, fast.

Battery

The 4260 milliamp-hour battery gets the device through the day without a hitch. With the fastest charging technology available, it runs from 0-100 percent in 38 minutes.

The battery – actually a set of two 2130 mAh for a total capacity of 4260 mAh, backed by a 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 Flash Charge.

Dual WiFi

For those using WiFi, the OPPO Find X2 Pro can connect to two different WiFi networks at the same time. The feature, named Dual WiFi acceleration allows some apps, such as Netflix, Opera browser, among a few others to automatically connect to a second WiFi network to speed up things. This means if users have both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz access points at home, the OPPO Find X2 Pro can connect to both of those at the same time.
