Paper Empire season 3 to be shot in Saudi Arabia

Production for the cryptocurrency drama Paper Empire’s third season, with 10 episodes, will take place entirely in Saudi Arabia’s AlUla, Film AlUla announced on Wednesday.

Written and directed by Robert Gillings, the series follows Laurence Fintch, who wants to be the planet’s financial savior, attempting to corner the world banks spirals out of control, bringing a global Financial Armageddon.

The cast of Paper Empire includes Robert Davi, who plays Fintch, Denise Richards, Kelsey Grammer, Helena Mattsson, Anne Archer, and Robert Knepper.

“The filming is part of the AlUla Creates initiative, which aims to nurture future generations of Saudi Arabian talent in the field of films, arts, and fashion,” said Film AlUla.

Film AlUla, launched in 2020, has hosted 700 productions, including films like Kandahar, starring Gerard Butler, Cherry, starring Tom Holland, and TV productions including British series, Expedition, and National Geographic documentaries.

AlUla, a region part of the Hijaz area, has become a cultural spot for many activities in Saudi Arabia, including Maraya Hall, the largest award-winning mirrored building ever constructed.
