Paris Haute Couture Week 2023 wraps up

The Paris Haute Couture Week 2023 wrapped up in Paris on Wednesday after titans of Haute Couture participated.

The week witnessed various shows from fashion houses like Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Fendi, Schiaparelli, Giorgio Armani Privé, and more, while American designer Thom Browne made his debut.

During the Valentino show in the Château de Chantilly, Pierpaolo Piccioli gave the show the name “Un Château”, which he called a metaphor for the art of haute couture, which has recently been ripe for reinvention.

Giorgio Armani Privé went for a “carnal, seductive, mysterious bloom of red roses,” the collection was dominated by flowers such as delicate corsages, rose-red embroidery, or red organza blooms.

On the banks of the River Seine, Chanel went for a “portrait of a sensitive yet bold Parisienne”. What Chanel considers allure is “standing on a line between strength and delicacy”

An ode to goddesses and the divine female was the theme for Dior’s show, with the majority of the designs covered in delicate pearls, rich brocades, tassels, and shimmering embroidered flowers.

The Haute Couture Week took place in Paris during the riots and protests in the country over the brutal police killing of Nahel Merzouk.
