Pfizer: Egypt Expels Pharmaceutical Investments

Dr Mohamed Swelim, Director of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Pfizer Egypt, has stated that Egypt became unattractive market for the pharmaceutical investments, due to the obstacles that the investors are facing in the fields of pharmaceutical industry.

Dr Swelim, on the sidelines of the 1st annual conference for Pharmaceutical cosmetics & Appliances Chamber, at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI), entitled “Future of Drug System between Risks and Challenges”, added that some countries like Qatar work on attracting several investments, whereas the investing climate in Qatar is suitable and allows injecting several investments.

He referred that the Qatari for Pharmaceutical Investments factor was supposed to enter the Egyptian market this year, but the bureaucracy and obstacles that the pharmaceutical investments as well the investors facing, stopped the process.
