PIJ delegation heads to Cairo for peace talks with Egyptian officials

A delegation from the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has arrived in Cairo for peace talks with Egyptian security officials, Reuters reported on Sunday.

According to Reuters, one of the organisation’s members told them that the talks will centre on “ways to end the Israeli aggression on our people.”

The group has so far rejected any new prisoner-swap deals with Israel before the occupations ends its attacks on the Palestinian strip.

The PIJ is a militant group allied with Hamas and is known to hold some of the Israeli hostages in Gaza.
