PLASTEX 2024: 30 years of leading plastics and rubber solutions in MENA

Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry supports PLASTEX’s 19th edition to boost the growing plastics sector

 

PLASTEX 2024, the leading plastics and rubber exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa, is preparing for its 19th edition from January 9 to 12, at the Egypt International Exhibitions Centre (EIEC) in Cairo. 

The exhibition will be held under the patronage of Egypt’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, backed by the Chamber of Chemical Industries, the Division of Plastics Industries, and the Chemical & Fertilizers Exports Council. 

Covering a remarkable area of 20,000 square meters, PLASTEX 2024 hosts more than 500 companies from more than 50 countries, to introduce innovative and eco-friendly solutions for the ever-expanding plastics and rubber industry in the region.

Also, it will continue its long-standing tradition of highlighting comprehensive and sustainable products for the Middle East and North Africa market. 

These products include machinery and equipment, raw materials and auxiliaries, semi-finished and end products, packaging solutions, recycling products, reinforced plastics, AI and robotics technologies, automations and smart services and more.

The exhibition features four zones that show new innovative solutions: Packaging, Recycling, Rubber and Industry 4.0.

With its strategic location and profitable market, Egypt is poised to become a hub for the plastics industry in the MENA region over the next decade.    

 Egypt’s local production, which meets only 30% of market needs, is indicating untapped opportunities across the entire value chain of the rubber and plastic industries.   

This fact, also, highlighted by its consumption rate, which accounts for 11% of the MENA region’s total share of plastic products.

The engineering plastics’ market in Egypt is expected to grow to USD 858 million by 2025, driven by factors including the need for lightweight and durable materials in sectors like automotive and aerospace, expansion of the construction industry, and a growing awareness of the benefits offered by engineering plastics.

Furthermore, the exhibition displays country-specific products from various nations, including Germany, India, Turkey, Taiwan, Korea, Kuwait, and China, providing global perspectives into sustainability, innovation, and the recent advancements in the plastics and rubber industries.

Additionally, it’s anticipated, spanning four days, to attract over 30,000 participants, including key government stakeholders, global CEOs, and decision-makers, as well as manufacturers, dealers, and distributors from the vital plastics and rubber industry.
