“Obscuring Youtube” Case Fixed On Nov. 10th: Court

The Judiciary Administrative Court, at the State Council, fixed a hearing session to consider the suit filed by Lawyer Mohamed Hamed Salem on November 10th. The lawsuit is calling for returning a verdict on obscuring “YouTube” website in Egypt. Also it is calling for obscuring all the websites and links that showed the anti-Islam movie. The lawsuit No. (60690/66) is against the Prime Minister Hesham Kandil, Minister of Communications and Head of the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA). The lawsuit mentioned that showing the film by YouTube website contradicts with all agreements and international treaties that stress on respecting religions and human rights. It added that YouTube had showed parts of the film that defame the Prophet of Islam and considered as offense against Islam and Muslims in Egypt and all world.
