Russian Delegation in Cairo to Review Free Zone Project

Russian delegation encompassing 10 customs officials has arrived Egypt on Tuesday for a 3-days visit in order to review details of constructing a free zone. This comes as pursuant to the agreement made between Egyptian President – Abdel Fattah el-Sisi- and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin who visited Egypt lately.

The Russian delegation was received by Magdy Abdel Aziz, Head of Egyptian Customs Authority.

During this visit, the Russian delegation would discuss with officials of Egyptian customs putting guide list of prices for products in the free zone, senior sources said

The sources pointed out that the two parties would agree on shrinking or exempting customs tariff on some strategic products that Egypt import from Russia like wheat.

In addition, the parties would agree on lowering tariff on other industrial products to enhance national industry in Egypt as well as signing administrative agreement.
