S. Korea’s export, import prices climb 2.4% in Dec. ’24

South Korea’s export price index (KRW basis) rose 2.4 per cent in December compared to the previous month, and increased 10.7 per cent annually, according to preliminary data released by the Bank of Korea on Wednesday.

Import prices also saw an increase, with the import price index (KRW basis) surging 2.4 per cent month-over-month. Over the past 12 months, import prices jumped 7.0 per cent, the statement revealed.

South Korea’s export and import volumes continued to grow. The export volume index grew 6.5 per cent year-on-year in December, while the import volume index edged up 5.5 per cent.
