SFD In Talks With Agriculture Ministry For Financing Micro-Enterprises

The Social Fund for Development (SFD) mulls partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture for financing micro agricultural projects, said Amany Youssef, head of micro-enterprises financing sector at SFD.

On the sidelines of the 1st Annual Global Finance & Investment Conference, Youssef added that SFD signed several memorandums of understanding with a number of African countries which have similar conditions as Egypt such as Sudan, Zambia, Cameroon, Malaysia and Indonesia to exchange experiences with these countries.

SFD has become a mediator between banks and NGOs on one side and micro, small and medium enterprises on the other side. There are many banks which expand strongly in financing micro-enterprises through SFD such as Banque Misr, Banque Du Caire and Commercial International Bank (CIB).
