Singapore CAI signs deals to develop Cairo International Airport

Singapore’s Changi Airports International (CAI) inked on Monday two deals with Cairo Airport Company to develop Cairo International Airport, a major airport in Africa and the largest in Egypt by passenger and cargo traffic, said Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation.

Singapore will provide feasibility studies for the design, operation, management, and marketing of the Logistics Cargo City, which will fall within the scope of the airport, according to an official statement. While the first agreement aims to implement impactful solutions to improve the passenger experience at Cairo International Airport.

“We have confidence that Changi Airports International will be able to provide world class solutions for Cairo International Airport as part of the strategic plan to strengthen the Egyptian position as a hub for passenger and cargo,” Mohamed Abbas Helmy, Minister of Civil Aviation of Egypt, said.

It is worth mentioning that Changi Airport has won the Skytrax World’s Best Airport Award a record 12 times, and is one of the top airport hubs in the world, said Magdy Ishak Azzer, Chief Executive Officer of Cairo Airport Company.
