Sisi hopes African initiative will settle Russian-Ukrainian conflict

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi hopes that the African initiative will help settle the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, this during his meeting on Monday among leaders of Egypt, Senegal, South Africa, Zambia, Uganda, and Comoros.

During the meeting, the African leaders discussed the African initiative’s role in mediating between Russia and Ukraine, according to a statement released by Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.

al-Sisi attended the conference via conference meeting and has reiterated that Egypt has had a balanced role since the beginning of the conflict.

He also said that Egypt stressed on the necessity of resecting international law, prioritising dialogue, and settling disputes by peaceful means.

The president also stressed on the importance of finding a solution that insures world peace and security, the statement added.
