Sisi, Macron call for urgent solutions to Gaza conflict

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi exchanged views on recent developments in Gaza with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Saturday, both calling for finding urgent solutions to the ongoing crisis in the war-torn strip.

The two leaders emphasised the importance of starting a comprehensive political process with the aim of reaching a just settlement for the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution.

The Palestinian death toll from an ongoing Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip has surged past 12,000, include more than 5,000 children and 3,300 women, the government media office in the besieged enclave said on Friday.
