Sisi welcomes humanitarian pause agreement in Gaza

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi welcomed on Wednesday the deal reached on the humanitarian pause in Gaza, which will commence within the next 24 hours for four days, with the possibility of an extension.

The agreement entails the release of 50 civilian Palestinian women and children held captive in the Gaza Strip, in exchange for the release of a number of Palestinian women and children imprisoned in Israeli jails.

Sisi stressed the commitment to the continuation of the Egyptian efforts exerted to reach a final and sustainable solution for achieving justice, imposing peace, and guaranteeing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian People.
