SMEs capture 85% of Egypt Market Volume, Yet need more Work on; says HP

In Egypt, the small and medium-sized enterprises sector controls 85 percent of the country’s market volume, said the Regional Managing Director of technology giant Hewlett-Packard (HP) Yasser Elkady on Wednesday.

During a press conference held today to announce Vodafone Egypt’s ‘Sherkety’ product dedicated for the small enterprises, Elkady referred that the SME sector still needs more support so as to demonstrate its pivotal role in contributing to Egypt’s economic growth. That is why the SME sector contributes 20% only to the country’s GDP.

Moreover, the HP official further added that offering solutions and partnerships such as Sherkty services shall represent a real starting point to improve the sector.
