Solariz Egypt says completed 30MW solar power plants in FY2018/19

Solariz Egypt has executed a number of solar power plants during the financial year 2018/2019, at capacities of 30 MW, its co-founder and managing director said on Monday.

Solariz is a leading solar energy company in Egypt which offers a variety of solar energy solutions and financing that work for home owners and businesses.

With investments exceeding 500 million Egyptian pounds ($30 million), the new plants were financed by the Arab African International Bank (AAIB) and Qatar National Bank (QNB), Yaseen Abdel-Ghaffar added.

“We had earlier implemented more than 250 solar power plants nationwide, including Coco-Cola’s plant in Sadat City, financed by QNB,” Abdel-Ghaffar said.

Coco-Cola Sadat plant is the first ever plant in Egypt powered by on-grid solar energy. It covers 50 percent of the entire plant’s electricity consumption.

Also, Solariz has executed a 1 MW solar power plant in 10th of Ramadan City in favour of LG Electronics as well as another plant for Hassan Hegazy Sons for Land Reclamation and Cultivation, at a capacity of 500 MW, he added.

“We seek to complete a solar power plant at the end of 2019, at capacities of 100 MW,” Abdel-Ghaffar said.
