Stealing $0.2-Candy drives Thai Boy to Merciless Punishment

An incident of beating a seven-year old boy and tied up in a wooden pole happened in Bangalane district of Nakhon Pathorn, Thailand.

According to the authorities, the boy was tied in the said pole and allegedly canned by his aunt as a punishment when she learned that he stole a candy worth six baht in a convenience store.

The images about the incident went viral online which led the superintendent of Banglane police, Col. Chatpong Sookboonchuthep to start an investigation.

Upon learning the incident authorities immediately conducted a rescue mission. The victim was in the state of exhaustion when found during the raid.

The poor boy was rushed to Banglane district hospital and was later on confirmed that he was abused. The victim’s grandmother reported to the police about the incident; that her daughter enraged to physically abuse him upon learning the crime. She added that her daughter paid 300 baht to the store so that the boy was freed without pressing charges against him. The victim was sent temporarily to a child care centre called Children’s Foundation located in the area.
