Summer Power Cuts Won’t Happen again in Egypt – Minister

Repetitive electricity cut crisis would not happen again in Egypt next summer, affirmed – electricity minister Mohamed Shaker on Monday. He stated that the ministry contracted to establish electricity units with capacity of 3600 megawatts and EGP 2.65 billion (around US$ 371.2 million) worth of investment cost.

Shaker added that his ministry had provided necessary funds, again after more than one year, in favour of the ministry of petroleum.  Last July, electricity ministry had sent EGP 2.1 billion to the petroleum ministry.
