In an exclusive statement to Amwal Al Ghad, Abdullah Alsuweilmy – CEO at Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) – announced that the Saudi bourse is targeting within the coming period the activation of the e-linkage process with the Egyptian counterpart.

Alsuweilmy stated that the Saudi Stock Exchange is seeking within the coming period to hold intensive meetings with the Egyptian Exchange officials.

“The meeting shall discuss the e-linkage procedures in order to facilitate the communication process between the two bourses and to boost the value and volume of trades through enabling investors to deal in both bourses.” Alsuweilmy added
“The e-linkage between the EGX and the Saudi bourse will contribute to the stimulation of the trading transactions.”

Meanwhile, the EGX management is planning to implement more linkage processes with largest number of bourses to facilitate the exchange of trading operations as well as the movement of capital.

The EGX is currently planning to start joint-trading with Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) which would allow investors in the two countries to trade on each other’s bourses.
