TE Data: No Compensations To Users For Submarine Cable Outage

Eng. Ahmed Osama, CEO of TE Data, has confirmed that his company does not provide its users with compensations for poor internet services in the last weeks after three submarine cables have been cut.

Osama added in a statement to Amwal Al Ghad that the National Telecommunication Regulatory Authority (NTRA) has not held a meeting with the internet service providers to examine ways to compensate users for the poor service as NTRA has announced in previous statements.

Moreover, Osama has explained that internet firms have resorted to alternative methods after the outage of the main cables, asserting that the poor service did not exceed several minutes.

Dr. Amr Badawi, CEO of NTRA had earlier said that the Authority is studying with the internet firms compensating users for the internet interruption.

NTRA has asked the Customer Protection Agency (CPA) to compensate users for the internet interruption due to the outage of cables at the end of March.
