TE Data to Acquire 4 Mln Users within 2 Years

TE Data, the Egyptian company for data transfer, aims to increase the number of its subscribers up to 4 million within two years.

Eng. Mohamed Nawawy, CEO of Telecom Egypt, the company owning TE Data, stated that TE Data is looking forward to multiplying the subscribers fourfold, pointing out that the number of internet subscribers via TE Data reaches about 1.2 million.

In his statements to Amwal Al Ghad, he added that TE Data owns the largest share in the market, representing 63% of the total number of fixed internet subscribers. He also noted that the fixed internet market witnesses a steady growth during the current phase.

The percentage of internet subscribers in Egypt has dived by nearly 0.58% by the end of July, recording 37.79%; that is, 31.03 million users.

He added that the number of land line internet subscribers amounted to 40.98%, with an annual growth of 6.33%.

On the other hand, the percentage of mobile subscribers via Broadband internet amounted to 90.07%, while USB Modem 3.07 subscribers recorded one million.
