Tesla is currently in talks with Saudi Arabia to establish a factory in the Kingdom, Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on Monday.
The reports come hours after Türkiye’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan asked Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, to build a factory in the country.
According to WSJ, KSA is now working on diversifying its economy in a way that it does not depend solely on oil.
The WSJ also said that the Kingdom is looking into offering a fund for Trafigura, the multinational commodity trading company, which might provide Tesla with the needed material.
Tesla is an American multinational automotive and clean energy company founded in 2003.
