Three Major Dubai Projects Announced

Three major projects including a safari park at an estimated cost of around Dh600 million have been approved by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Sharing the details of the projects at a press conference yesterday, Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said the civic body has started work on developing ‘Dubai Safari’, which will be home to animals from the existing zoo along with new ones from other places.

The other two projects are the completion of Business Bay Canal and its connection to the sea and construction of a 3km-long dhow wharfage development between the Deira Corniche and Palm Deira, says Gulfnews.

Dubai Safari is expected to improve living conditions for animals from the zoo in Jumeirah.

Lootah said Dubai Safari will be completed within a year and a half.

Talking about the Business Bay project, Lootah said: “It is a challenging project but we are hoping to add value to the site and bring something that is unique to Dubai.”

The project will revive the Business Bay Canal as a part of an integrated marine system and also transform the area adjacent to the canal into an attractive waterfront, the civic chief said.
