Top 50 Women Forum strongly condemns Israel’s war crimes in Gaza

Dina Abdel Fattah urges global women response to defend Palestinian women’s rights for decent living

Top 50 Women Forum on Wednesday strongly condemned the heinous massacre and war crime attacks committed by Israel against Palestinian civilians in the past few days, and most recently in Baptist Hospital in Gaza Tuesday evening. The Israeli shooting on Baptist Hospital has resulted in killing hundreds of civilian Palestinians, including patients, women, and children.

The Forum described the most recent Israeli attack as a clear violation of international law and international humanitarian and legitimate principles, saying it is unarguably a war crime. The Forum extends condolences to the families of the victims and wishes speedy recovery to those injured in the unfortunate attack.

Moreover, the Forum – which stands for ensuring gender equity and equality and defending women rights worldwide – is calling the international community to act to end brutal attacks, flagrant violation of human rights, prevent violence from broadening, and alleviate the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian people.

Top 50 Women Forum also called for restraint and dialogue as priority to end the ongoing bloodshed and achieve a fair, durable peace, and stop Israel’s incitement, and reach consensus.

The recent attack constitutes a disgrace to humanity and a flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law, said Dina Abdel Fattah – Founder and Chairperson of Top 50 Women Forum. She denounced the unilateral actions adopted by Israel to incite racism, hatred, and torture, moving everyone backward to the dark ages where imposition of power and violence used to prevail.

“Human lives must come first before achieving political wins,” Abdel Fattah added, saying despite the loss of lives by the bare hands of merciless occupation forces, Israel still unfortunately enjoys all the support from the west. She also denounced the widespread media propaganda campaigns demonising Arabs and conveying wrong messages about the Palestinian cause.

“Women worldwide have to stand in solidarity with Palestinian women”

Palestinian women have endured most of the hardships faced by the whole Palestinian people, including the loss of children, deprivation of basic rights, forced expulsion, and killing, Abdel Fattah further said.

“Top 50 Women Forum is ready to collaborate with regional and international organisations to give Palestinian people voice to restore their rights, and to ensure to convey more unbiased media messages to uncover the truth and refute blatant lies.” Abdel Fattah concluded.
