Trump slams the World Health Organisation, threatening to withhold funds
U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday criticised the World Health Organisation (WHO), warning: “We’re going to put a hold on money spent to the WHO. We’re going to put a very powerful hold on it.”
When reporters asked about that decision later, Trump backtracked and said that he was still considering such a measure.
“We’re going to look at it,” Trump said.
Earlier, Trump accused the WHO “to be very China-centric”, explaining that the organisation had not been critical enough of China’s coronavirus statistics.
