Tunnels Authority studies executing Cairo Metro Line 4 phase II with $3bn

Egyptian National Authority for Tunnels (NAT) is set to conduct studies on the second phase of Cairo Metro Line 4 within the current period, Chairperson Tarek Gamal El-Din stated Sunday.

He added that the total cost of the second phase is estimated at 30 billion Egyptian pounds (US$3.3 billion) and NAT studies the possibility of providing foreign finance for it.

NAT is keen to finish those studies as soon as possible to start construction works in line with implementing the first phase, the official clarified.

The second phase starts from Amr Ibn Al-Aas area and ends at First Settlement area, Gamal El-Din pointed out.

On other side, the construction works at the first phase of Cairo Metro Line 4 is scheduled to be finished by 2022 with total cost estimated at 25 billion Egyptian pounds (US$2.8 billion).
