Turkey Lifts Embargo on Exporting Egyptian Rice

Zaki Ekinci, Chairman of Turkish-Egyptian Businessmen Association (TUMİAD), has welcomed the Egyptian minister of industry’s decision of lifting embargo on the Egyptian rice.
Ekinci affirmed that the decision will boost the commercial exchange between Cairo and Istanbul; as the Turkish market needs the imported rice because the domestic product isn’t sufficient to meet the demand. Moreover, the Turkish citizens prefers the Egyptian rice for its high quality.
The volume of the commercial exchange between Egypt and Turkey recorded $3.4 billion in August 2012,  most of them are importing to the Egyptian market, while the Egyptian industrial exports to the Turkish market reached $792 million.
