Türkiye’s Ukinox to invest $14 mln in Egypt’s SCZone

Turkish manufacturer Ukinox will invest $14 million to build a stainless-steel kitchen sink factory in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), the authority said on Tuesday, as it seeks to attract higher-value manufacturing and boost exports.

The factory will be built in the Sokhna Industrial Zone within the Main Development Company (MDC) industrial park, the development arm of the SCZONE. It will cover 37,000 square metres, create 220 jobs, and begin production in its first phase by mid-2028.

The plant will have an annual production capacity of 1.2 million stainless steel kitchen sinks, serving both domestic and export markets.

“The Ukinox project supports our strategy of localising advanced manufacturing, strengthening supply chain integration, and expanding export-oriented production,” SCZONE Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien.

He said the project reflects SCZONE’s strategy of attracting specialised engineering industries that deepen local manufacturing, increase value-added production, and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian exports.

The project forms part of SCZONE’s programme to support export-oriented manufacturers, implemented in coordination with Egypt’s Administrative Control Authority, which aims to strengthen industrial production and export capacity.
