U.S. records more than 20,000 new coronavirus cases

The U.S. has reported on Tuesday at least 20,461 new coronavirus cases and 1,015deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.

That brought the total number of virus-related fatalities to 106,181and confirmed cases to 1,831,821 nationwide.

The totals include cases from all the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and other U.S. territories, as well as repatriated cases.

New York, the epicentre of the U.S. epidemic, registered a total of more than 373,000 cases and nearly 30,000 deaths.
