Wafd Party’s board elections slated for Friday

Elections for the Wafd Party’s supreme board will be held next Friday, the party declared on Tuesday.

Ahmed Ouda, assistant chairman and supreme board member, hailed the Administrative Court’s decision to turn down challenges filed against the elections, arguing that the verdict was a testimony to the “validity of the (electoral) procedures”.

Board member Reda Salama had filed a challenge against the invitation for elections, saying that it would be occurring one year ahead of his five-year stint which started in May 2011.
