Wisconsin woman poisons her friend with eye drops

The court convicted Jessy Kurczewski, 39, from Franklin, Wisconsin, of killing Lynn Hernan on purpose and stealing nearly $300,000 from her.

According to a criminal complaint, the beautician was discovered dead at her home in Pewaukee in October 2018, with crushed medication on her chest.

The coroner ruled Hernan was killed on purpose when he found  a fatal dose of  Tetrahydrozoline in her body, a thing that some eye drops, and nose sprays have.

The drug goes fast through the gastrointestinal tract, getting to the blood and the central nervous system, the American Academy of Ophthalmology said.

Donna Kuchler, who was Kurczewski’s lawyer, claimed that the victim committed suicide because she was depressed, sick and abusing drugs during the trial that lasted three weeks.

The jury and Judge Jennifer Dorow agreed with the prosecution that Kurczewski wanted money and murdered Hernan to cheat her.

Consequently, they will sentence Kurczewski on 7 December, the murder charge means she has to spend her life in prison and the stealing charges can give her up to five years each.
