Wreckage of Russian crashed plane found in Egypt: Media

Egyptian security forces cordoned off the crash site liner, media reported. It is assumed that the fragments belong to the Russian airline’s Airbus A321 “Kogalymavia.” Reuters later reported that Egypt has confirmed the crash.

Wreckage of Russian civil aircraft found on Saturday in the center of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, according to the portal “Youm7”.

According to the newspaper, the Egyptian security forces cordoned off the crash site of the city of El Arish in northern Sinai directed about twenty ambulances to evacuate the victims.

Earlier, a source in the Federal Air Transport Agency told RIA Novosti that the airliner Airbus-321 of airline “Kogalymavia” which fly 9268 Sharm el-Sheikh – Saint Petersburg, flew from Egypt to 6.21 (MSK) and disappeared from radar screens 23 minutes on onboard there were 217 passengers and seven crew members.

Egyptian Internet portal “Masravi” referring to military sources reported that the Egyptian military aircraft were alerted to look for Russian aircraft.

Later, Reuters reported that Egypt confirmed the crash.
