Zara faces boycott over controversial ad mocks Gaza victims

Spanish fashion retailer Zara is facing boycott calls over its recent advertisement campaign titled “The Jacket,” which controversially contains photos resembling the Israeli genocide in Gaza.

The campaign features bodies wrapped in a white body bag reminiscent of traditional Muslim burial attire; it also includes rocks, rubble, and a cardboard cutout resembling the map of Palestine.

Model Kristen McMenamy posed in the advertisement carrying a mannequin draped in white cloth, which bears a resemblance to photographs showing the aftermath of the conflict in Israel and Palestine.

Pakistani actress Ushna Shah lambasted international clothing brand Zara for its callous campaign that apparently mocks the destruction and death that Palestinians have been subjected to since October 7.
