Egypt plans fuel self-sufficiency in FY2021/22

Egypt aims to be self-sufficient in fuel and petroleum products within the financial year 20221/2022, senior officials in the oil ministry told Amwal Al Ghad on Saturday.

The country achieved its goal of self-sufficiency in natural gas and turned into an exporter in the fourth quarter of 2018, the sources said.

Egypt’s petroleum production totalled 359 million tonnes in the past five years until June 2019, the sources added.
