Eng. Hatem Saleh, Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, heads the Egyptian delegation that is participating in Musaid Fair in Istanbul. The delegation includes Abdel Rahman Salah, Egyptian ambassador to Ankara- Wafa Al-Hadidy, Egypt’s consul to Turkey- Anwar Al Sahragty, Head of the Egyptian Commercial Representation Body and Moustafa Mekkawy, Head of commercial office in Istanbul.
The minister stated that the global economy witnesses a number of changes and challenges may change the economic power; underscoring the necessity of the Islamic country’s effective role in reshaping the global economic map and expanding the cooperation fields in the coming period to form effective economic bloc in the new global system, through increasing the growth rates in a number of developing Islamic countries, compared to the economies of the developed countries.
Saleh pointed to the dire need of setting new ideas for the economic cooperation and boosting the intra-region trade and joint investments, as well freeing the trade between Islamic countries. He stressed the significance of maximizing the role of the private sector among the member countries in Organization of Islamic Cooperation as a strategic partner to increase the economic cooperation fields. As the private sector has a main role in transforming the settled cooperation policies into tangible reality through adopting a work map.
Egypt has capabilities and promising investment opportunities, in addition to distinguished geographical location, as well Suez Canal as a strategic passageway connects west to east; in addition to decreasing the production cost, the minister said, calling on the participant businessmen to make use of these opportunities and establishing new investments inside the Egyptian markets during the current period.
