Egyptian drugmaker Eva Pharma said that it aims to sign number of co-operation protocols with international companies to manufacture covid-19 vaccines in Egypt during the upcoming period, said chief executive Riad Armanious said.
He told Amwal Al Ghad that the company is currently in talks with several international companies working on developing a coronavirus vaccines including European and American companies.
The company has begun manufacturing antiviral drug Avipiravir, which has proved effective in treating coronavirus patients in Russia as part of ongoing clinical trials in Japan and other countries.
In addition the company has signed a deal with Gilead Sciences for manufacturing and sale of remdesivir, which has shown promising results in treating coronavirus during two phases of initial trials.
The company has the right to manufacture and distribute the coronavirus drug in 127 countries, Riad Armanious — chief executive officer, Eva Pharma.
