Italian Agency for Development Cooperation to grant €3 million for projects in Egypt

The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) is working on a grant project worth €3 million ($3.6 million) to finance a number of development projects in Egypt, its director said on Tuesday.

Martino Milli said the grant programme will consist of €1 million for Al-Robeky City to support Egypt’s leather manufacturing industry, €1 million for the country’s marble and granite industry in the Shaq El-Thoaban industrial area, and €1 million for the furniture industry in Damietta City.

The AICS is set to sign soon a cooperation protocol with the technological centres at the Egyptian Trade and Industry Ministry to help transfer the developed Italian expertise and industrial technologies to the North African country, Milli added.

Milli made these remarks following a visit made by an AICS delegation to Al-Robeky Leather City to review prospects of offer support programmes to improve services to the tanning and leather manufacturing projects in the city.
