Egypt reports 718 new coronavirus cases, 32 deaths on Monday

The Egyptian Health Ministry said Monday that 718 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 126,273.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 32 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 7,130.

As many as 345 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 107,162 so far, the spokesman said.

Egyptian ministries and governmental authorities will start on Sunday applying new measures to curb the spread of coronavirus, including reducing the attendance of employees and activating the rotation system.

Work circumstances will be determined based on the number of employees and the nature of work, so that they ensure service is properly provided to citizens and work is continued.

The plan included banning large gatherings at closed wedding halls and stressing the closure of private lessons for school students.

The plan also included securing the distribution of the coronavirus vaccine.
