Egypt’s stocks finish lower on Wednesday, benchmark EGX 30 losses 1.60%

Egypt’s stock exchange’s (EGX) indexes finished lower on Wednesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index sank 1.60 percent to 10,568 points.

The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) edged down 0.94 percent to 1,969 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped plummeted 1.45 percent to 12,893 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 dropped 1.02 percent to 2,910 points. Meanwhile, the equal weights index, EGX 50 decreased 0.94 percent to 2,034 points.

Market Cap   

Total market capitalisation has on Wednesday incurred losses worth 5.7 billion Egyptian pounds ($362.8 million), ending the trading at 649.892 billion pounds due to foreign investors’ selloff.

Trading Aggregates            

Trading value has approximately reached 4.4 billion pounds, while the trading volume has almost recorded 587.550 million securities executed 38,645 transactions.
