Bahrain’s investments in Egypt stand at $3.2 billion for 216 projects

Bahrain’s investments in Egypt stand at $3.2 billion, through 216 projects in the country, Bahraini ambassador to Cairo said on Sunday.

Speaking at the Egyptian Bahraini Forum held in Cairo, Ambassador Hisham bin Mohammed Al Jowder said Bahrain is the 16th biggest investor in Egypt.

There are 10 Bahraini companies currently investing $753.3 million in Egypt, Al Jowder added.

The ambassador highlighted the financial and banking industries among the key sectors Bahraini investments in Egypt are currently focused on.

The kingdom contributes $309.6 million in Ahli United Bank – Egypt, $117 million for Al Baraka Banking Group, and $90 million for Bank ABC, as well as Ithmaar Bank’s $43.6 million commitment in Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt, Al Jowder said.
