Egypt’s stocks close lower as benchmark EGX 30 tumbles 0.17%
Egypt’s stock exchange (EGX) has ended lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark EGX 30 index tumbling by 0.17 percent to 11,144 points.
EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid cap enterprises (SME) slumped by 1.03 percent to 2,943 points, while the fixed-weighted index, EGX 30 Capped rose 0.06 percent to 13,505 points. The all-embracing index, EGX 100 dropped by 0.96 percent to 3,946 points. In addition, the equal weights index, EGX 50 fell 0.69 percent to 2,480 points.

The country’s market capitalisation has on Tuesday incurred losses worth 3.1 billion Egyptian pounds ($197.4 million), ending the trading at 732.996 billion pounds driven by local and Arab investors’ selloff.
