Maroon 5 to launch Middle East tour, starting with Egypt’s Giza Pyramids
U.S. pop ban Maroon 5 is launching a Middle East tour, starting with a concert at Egypt’s Giza Pyramids on May 3. The tour will also include a show in the UAE.
In 2011, the Grammy award-winning band, led by vocalist Adam Levine, previously played in Cairo, when they took to the stage at the Gezira Youth Centre in Zamalek.
Egypt’s ancient monuments have been a popular venue among performers for decades, hosting the likes of jazz legend Louis Armstrong in 1961 and renowned crooner Frank Sinatra in 1979.
The Giza Plateau has recently played host to Shakira, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and the Black Eyed Peas.
