Egypt: Ever Art crosses Suez Canal on its first voyage

Egypt’s Suez Canal has witnessed on Thursday a successful crossing of the giant container ship Ever Art on its first cruise, the latest and largest container ship in the world.

The journey was coming from Malaysia and heading to Netherlands, Osama Rabie chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), said.

Rabie has directed all necessary measures and assigned a group of senior authority guides to ensure the safe transit of the tanker.

Moreover, he provided the provision of navigational aids from accompanying locomotives, in addition to immediate follow-up from the main traffic office and guidance stations along the canal.

Noteworthy, Ever Art has a 221,000 tonnage and can carry 24,132 containers on board.

Ever Art is the sixth ship in a series of 12 giant ships under construction of the 24 A class, as it follows the shipping line of Ever Green.
