Egypt banks’ assets up 11.5% in four months
The total assets of the banks in Egypt – excluding the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) – rose 11.5 percent in the first four months of the year.
The assets recorded 9.626 trillion Egyptian pounds ($502.7 billion) at the end of April from 8.627 trillion pounds at the end of December 2021, according to the CBE’s monthly statistics bulletin that released on Thursday.
The capitals of banks in Egypt have also risen to 233.144 billion pounds at the end of April from 215.356 billion pounds at the end of December 2021.
