Adel Zaki, Head of Foreign Tourism Committee, at Egypt Travel Agents Association (ETAA), has stated that the street violence in Tahrir Square, objecting on the constitutional declaration, instability and security tensions negatively affect the tourism sector.
He added that the repercussions of these incidents will affect the sector for 6 months at least, on reason of the tourists’ fears of the instability and the violence.
Zaki referred that what the media is transferring about the incidents of Mohamed Mahmoud Street, and Al Kasr Al Aini, arouses the fears of tourists to visit Egypt at the current time, saying “Although these incidents are only in Tahrir Sq. but they have influence on all the tourism attractions in Egypt”
Resorts of South Sinai and Read Sea are the less influenced by the current incidents, while Cairo, Luxor and Aswan mostly affected, Zaki said.
