Eurozone GDP grows 1.9% in Q4 of 2022

Euro zone’s GDP recorded slight growth by 1.9 percent in the fourth quarter of 2022, according to the statistical office of the European Union’s (Eurostat) data showed on Tuesday.

Eurostat said GDP in the 19 countries sharing the euro at the end of 2022 expanded 0.1 percent quarter-on-quarter for a 1.9 percent year-on-year rise.

The Irish economy led the region’s growth with 3.5 percent increase in GDP; while the quarterly total GDP of Poland recorded 2.4 percent decrease, which considered the worst of all EU countries.

On quarterly basis, the employment increased in the European Union with 0.4 percent in the fourth quarter, as well as the euro zone. While, on yearly basis, employment increased 1.5 percent in euro zone and 1.3 percent in European Union.
