The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has pared its midday gains to eventually hit EGP 1.3 billion during Sunday’s closing session. The capital market has amounted to EGP 374.467 billion.
The EGX indices closed in green, except for the mid-cap index.
The main index, EGX30 rose by 0.46% to end at 5442.37 p. EGX20 inched up by 0.68% to close at 6279.63 p.
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 fell by 0.04% to conclude at 479.16 pts. Price index EGX100 went up by 0.17% to finish at 802.27 p.
During Sunday’s closing, the trading volume has reached 111.723 million securities worth EGP 346.970 million, exchanged 21.081 thousand transactions.
This was after trading in 176 listed securities; 80 declined, 61 advanced; while 35 keeping their previous levels.
The non-Arab foreigners transactions have backed EGX’s gains for Sunday as they were net buyers seizing 9.12% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 23.348 million excluding the deals.
On the other hand, Egyptians and Arabs were net sellers seizing 83.8% and 7.09% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 22.753 million and EGP 595.369 thousand excluding the deals.
