Egypt, Jordan mull cooperation in pharmaceutics

Egypt and Jordan are mulling cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, said the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) in an official statement on Monday.

According to the statement, the cooperation is between the EDA and Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA).

The authorities talked about ways to exchange knowledge, expertise, and views on issues of mutual concern. They also discussed ways to boost trade cooperation.

The decisions were made during a virtual meeting between EDA’s Chairman Tamer Essam and JFDA’s Director General Nizar Mahmoud Mahidat.

Egypt, Rwanda sign pharmaceutical co-operation deal

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has formalised a partnership with its Rwandan counterpart, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance pharmaceutical cooperation. The agreement was signed during the opening ceremony of the first phase of the Magdi Yacoub Rwanda-Egypt Heart Centre.

In addition to the MoU, contracts were finalised for the supply of medical equipment to the heart centre, funded by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development. The facility is poised to become a regional healthcare hub for cardiac treatment in East and Central Africa.

Egypt’s EDA, Zambia sign collaboration pact

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) and Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority (ZAMRA) signed a memorandum of understanding, during the Africa Health Excon conference, aiming to boost co-operation for public health and meet Zambia’s pharmaceutical needs, as per a cabinet statement.

The agreement involves Zambian reliance on Egyptian regulatory standards for medical product registration. Moreover, joint capacity-building initiatives are planned.

This collaboration underscores the EDA’s regional leadership and supports the penetration of Egyptian medical products into global markets.

 

 

Egypt’s EDA, Nigeria’s NAFDAC sign MoU

The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) on Tuesday.

The MoU seeks to promote access of Egyptian drugs to the Nigerian market, according to an EDA statement on Facebook.

The new agreement comes within the EDA’s efforts to exchange expertise with African nations in various fields.

These include the fields of pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, and vaccines.

The EDA is also working on multiple endeavors to help access the African markets.

Egypt, Indonesia aim to further boost healthcare cooperation

Egypt and Indonesia are seeking to further boost cooperation in the healthcare sector, said the chairman of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) on Sunday.

The statement was made during a meeting his with the Indonesian Ambassador to Cairo Lotfi Rauf.

They discussed ways to further enhance pharmaceutical cooperation, the statement mentioned.

This meeting came as a part of EDA’s efforts to increase cooperation with Asian countries in the healthcare sector.

Egypt delivers 1st pharmaceuticals shipment to Zimbabwe

Egypt delivered its first shipment of pharmaceuticals manufactured by local firms to Zimbabwe, the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) announced on Tuesday.

This is part of the framework of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the EDA and the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) in May.

The MoU allows the MCAZ to rely on the EDA’s procedures in the pharmaceuticals sector as a reference point.

It also aims to facilitate Egyptian pharmaceuticals’ access to the Zimbabwean market.
