Morocco’s annual inflation, measured by the consumer price index, rose to 5 percent year-on-year in August, said the statistics agency HCP on Tuesday.
According to the agency, the inflation went up from 4.9 percent a month earlier.
Food prices are the main driver for inflation in Morocco, and they rose by 10.4 percent from a year earlier.
Non-food inflation increased by 1.3 percent.
Core inflation stood at 4.9 percent year-on-year and 0.2 percent month-on-month
